Digital Marketing is the wave of the future. Businesses that have not embraced this new form of engaging and delighting customers will be clearly left out – by those who have successfully done so.
Marketing consultant and lecturer Jose Mari “Topo” Abeleda wrote that traditional marketing (like radio and television) don’t have the same impact on the Filipino public anymore. This is particularly true for the young and trendy, most of which are fast-becoming digital-savvy.
The Philippines is on the road towards a major upheaval in its online sphere. The country is now the sixth largest Internet market in the whole of Asia and the second largest in Southeast Asia. Google’s Country Manager for the Philippines, Ken Lingan, said that the Filipino online population is already 44 million, and Statista projects this will reach figures of up to 69.3 million internet users by the year 2018.
According to a report from the Huffington Post, internet access in the Philippines has grown by a whopping 500%, practically the fastest growth rate in Southeast Asia. What this means is that there are still a lot of traction for Digital Marketers to work on within the Philippines.
However, they can only do so by upgrading their systems and procedures while trying to learn all the new tricks and tips. This includes familiarizing themselves with upcoming trends, movers and shakers – like the ones listed below – heralding the coming of a new digital landscape for the country in 2016.
